Susan has always loved anything associated with creativity and using her hands. It was not until she studied art at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center in association with her degree from Colorado College that her passion began to grow. She delved into sewing, crocheting, gardening, and decorating and dabbled in watercolors, acrylics and some magazine illustrating while raising a family. With children on their own, she and her husband moved to Colorado and Susan returned to her first love, oil painting. Starting with painting classes and workshops Susan continued to paint and in 2004 she began entering art competitions. Since then she has been accepted into many national and local juried shows and been honored to receive many awards ranging from honorable mentions to best oil painting. Susan's work can be seen in The White Hart Gallery in Steamboat Springs and on her website: susanschuchter.com.
