Over the past ten years, Steven Hileman’s paintings have increasingly attracted the attention of art lovers and collectors. His paintings, which he describes as realism influenced by impressionism, show a mature understanding of drawing, values, edges, and color.

Beginning in his home state of Pennsylvania, Steven’s artistic journey took him to Florida to study art at Pensacola Christian College, and then to subsequently work as an illustrator for a large publishing company for three years. In 2002, Steven and his family relocated to their current home in Maine.

Steven’s paintings have been included in numerous juried national art competitions and shows, and have earned various awards and recognitions, including the top award for the Eastern region in the 2008 Paint the Parks competition.

Steven is currently represented by Argosy Gallery (Bar Harbor, ME), The Gallery at Caterpillar Hill (Sedgwick, ME), and Vermont Artisan Designs, Gallery 2 (Brattleboro, VT).
