Coming soon
M.A. Martin enjoys multi-medium and varied subject matter including western themes, portraitures, animals, three-dimensional fantasy, decorative feminine figures, and even wood carving of furniture built and sold by her husband. In addition to painting and sculpting, she has illustrated a children’s book about Gargoyles..
Mary Anne has been influenced by Michelangelo, Dali, Rembrandt, Bierstadt, Renoir, Rubin, as well as Alphonse Mucha, Adolphe-William Bouguereau, Maxfield Parrish and a fabulous storytelling Irish grandfather. She continues to find inspiration from these masters.
She attended Marymount College in Boca Raton, Florida, and studied under sculptor/painter Ferenc Varga, but she considers herself mostly self-taught. Articles about her work have appeared in The Artist Magazine, The Fence Post, and the book, Women to Remember of Northern Colorado by Arlene Albright and Mary Hagen.
Mary Anne has recently finished a unique commission in which she participated in and helped organize a ceiling of 30 panels that depicts the history of the mountains and valleys around Stove Prairie, Colorado.
Mary Anne Martin and her husband Gene live in Stove Prairie, where the Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction takes place to benefit the community.
